I started creating art at an early age. After spending many years painting with watercolour and chalk pastels I started making art quilts and joined the local quilt guild.  It was there, in 2002, that I made my first cloth doll in a class led by Jacquie Lecuyer.  I was hooked.  I started designing and making my own art dolls while continuing to take more classes from many doll artists.

Twirling Shirl: My First Original Design Art Doll

I joined the Canadian Doll Artists Association and All Dolled Up neither of which, unfortunately, is still active.  Today, I belong to Out of the Box, a fibre arts group.  I am still making dolls as well as other fibre art.  I am influenced by nature, people and the colours and textures of the materials I work with.

I still do watercolour and pastel paintings (my cross training) which are not represented on this site but can be seen on my blog.

I live in Ottawa but do most of my fibre art at my cottage in Calabogie.
